How long is it until labor comes if you're cervix is soft and long?

I'm 39 weeks pregnant and wondering about the whole soft, long cervix deal. Thanks for any advice! Oh, and I keep getting sharp, dull shots of pain through my right upper thigh...? Any advice to what that is, probably a nerve being pinched, right? Thanks guys!

its very different for every person. With my 1st I went into labor 3 weeks early and with my 2nd I had like 4 false labors where I thought I was truly in labor because it was similiar to the signs I had with my son.

Never heard of a long cervix, and I worked in Ob/gyn unless this is some kind of new term
