I think it depends on how else they feel. If someone has a fever, they should take something for it before going. Tylenol, Ibuprofen. for example. Fever is just a sign of the body trying to fight off an infection. My son had a fever of 105, for 5 days, and it was a virus. And when the Tylenol worked, he actually didn't act too bad. So, my doc said as long as he looks fairly normal when the fever came down, keep him hydrated with lots of clear liquids. So, people shouldn't rush in just cause of fever, what else is going on. If they have a primary doc, they can call them and tak to whoever is on call.

I wouldn't base that decision just on a fever, but I would say if you're fever is 103 or higher and no doctors are around, and you don't have an urgent care...go to the emergency room. When I get very, very sick, it's usually ends up on the weekends, when doctors offices are closed so I end up at urgent care. But if symptoms are really bad and you need to see a doctor, don't wait just because your fever isn't high enough.

If your fever climbs above 102, and you've already tried taking Tylenol and it hasn't helped, then go to the emergency room! And drink lots of water!
I see that others are telling you to wait until your temperature is 105 or above!! That is not right. 105 is very dangerous for an adult, and you should not be driving if your temperature is that high. At least call the doctor's office if you can't drive in.

When nothing over the counter makes it go down a few notches. I suggest using a cool cloth and placing it on the back of the neck. 102 fever and all efforts were given to get it down but nothing working at home. Get to Emergency Room.

Any amount of fever can warrent going to the doctor for antibiotics but serious fever begins at around 102 degrees F. Anything higher than that and you could risk brain damage if it lasts too long...get to the doctor!
Go to your regular doctor before it gets that high! When it gets 104, you'll almost be too dizzy to walk straight...its very much like being drunk. See the doctor if it gets to 100..that's my rule of thumb. If its lower than 100, it will likely go away by itself with rest and water and a little pain reliever...like asprin or Tylonal.

How high is your/they're fever?! I would estimate maybe 104 or 105. Maybe even 103. Whoever has the fever, make them drink water and eat ice. (bad for your teeth, but it will cool your fever a bit.)

Yes, if your fever reaches 105, immediately go to the emergency room. I believe that at 107 or 108, your body starts to shut down.
104 also provides grounds to go to the ER. (only if it doesn't seem to be getting better)

Sorry to hear that you are sick, try rubbing your self down with an ice potato that should break the fever and if you can try some nyquil, if all else fails it will at least knock you out. goood sleeping.

I don't think it matters how high the fever is I think it depends on the other symptoms you are having. If you feel like you need to go then go.
Hope you feel better
