I understand this to mean the base 12 log of 715.
This is the number (x) that you raise 12 to, to get 715

12^x=715
x log(12)=log(715)
x=log(715)/log(12)
x=2.854306042/1.079181246
x=2.644881064

to 4 decimal places,
x=2.6449

log both sides

remember 12 is the base number and 715 is the answer

log(12)x = log(715)

divide

x = log(715) / log(12)

x= 2.644881064.....
four decimal places?
2.6449 = x

in general if N= log(A) B,

then N = log B / log A

in this case N = log 715 / log 12 = 2. 8543 / 1.0792 = 2.6449
