I want to know what reasons do u think people have for getting married?

Marriage is about a commitment before God, a covenant, that you make with each other for the rest of your lives. Without it, it is must easier for the other person to get up and leave. It also creates a family structure and obviously for some women, they want kids and want a father, or vice versa. It helps people know they will not be alone the rest of their lives - I mean, who wants to be alone? Studies show that couples that live together before they get married suffer higher rates of divorce. Why? Because I would guess they don't take the commitment as seriously..it's more just a piece of paper and not a life change.

if you want real...honest reasons, lets just focus on the reality of half the marriages today. They get married for money, because of children, to gain citizenship, better their situations, health benefits, etc. IT's a long list.
Now if you want the ideal...then you get married because you've found that person...not any person..."the" one. And this person can't have many flaws. this person is someone you are going to have to clean up after, take direction from, listen to, care for, laugh with, cry with and get wrinkly with. If you can do that...and he's willing to do that...then it's a marriage that will last. If you get married for the first set of reasons...I can give you the name of about ten really good divorce lawyers!
Dont' rush into anything.

If you truly love someone and want to spend the rest of your life with them what other reason do you need than to get married.

I got married because I was with the man I knew I was supposed to spend my life with.
We've been happily married 31 years and I was right.

First and foremost, because you love the person, and want to spend your life with them. They are your best friend. Security, just that special someone who is always there for you no matter what.

well for number 1: they hopefully love that person and wants to spend their live with no one but that person!
