In the article, Cheney criticizes China for its shooting down of a satellite, saying that such moves are inconsistent with China's claim that it wants a peaceful rise. With what the US has done in the Middle East during the past few years, with the countless violent government overthrows by the US since WWII, with our absolutely huge military budget, Cheney has the audacity to criticize another country over this? As uncomfortable as it might make American citizens, who can seriously criticize China, or any country for that matter, for beefing up its military?

He is free to speak him mind. Not audacious at all in my opinion. Why don't you ask him instead of asking others to guess?

If China shot down a U.S. satellite, as of now the blogbaba has no knowledge of such an event. Cheney and the Bushwacker have the obligation to respond in kind and take us to war with China. Just the fact that the Chinese have the technology to shoot down a satellite, if it happened, is amazing and in truth more frightening that Putin's 10,000 nukes.

How do you beef up a 200,000,000 (two hundred million) man standing army. Thats about as beefy as a military can get. I'm going to bail now and go to the website you listed, I need more information......it was a test, not an actual act of war. More saber rattling, the ballon hasn't gone up yet.

Cheney has every right to criticize China for shooting down that satellite,it was a test of space weapons in which the Chinese government said it wanted to stop.I think that the US should just get back to our star wars program and see how China likes that.

Please keep in mind that Dick Cheney likes to think of himself as a big bully. He may has gotten over by the seat of his pants in the Scooter Libby trial, but that doesn't make him invincible. Like the puppet that he controls (your President), he's attempting to provoke a conflict with China. But like Iran, China will not back down if pushed hard enough. This administration needs to be stopped--and soon. We're already up to our necks in international conflicts as it is, but these two (Bush & Cheney) still feel the need to provoke countries that will not back down if and when provoked.
Keep in mind that the reason they're doing this is because with conflict and confusion, it provides a distraction and this way they can continue to steal [oil] which is what they're doing in Iraq.

It is completely hypocritical. I will add to your argument not to forget that Bush, in Dec 2001, removed the USA from the ABT, anti-ballistic missile treaty then went on to invade a country without UN support he announced was on his axis of evil.

No wonder these countries want to protect themselves.

Cheney must be careful in criticizing China because it has not made aggressive imperialist acts unlike USA who has invaded practically all nations it deems as harboring terrorists. According to new reports, the downing of a satellite was an accidental mistake.

Cheney's just a hypocritical moron and he needs to get his head out of his ****.

For the same reason we say China shouldn't damage the environment in order to develop (like the US does), or for that matter, the same reason Iran shouldn't have nukes (like the US does)......

Hypocrisy!
