You probably mean logs which is an abbreviation for logarithms.

Definition
The logarithm of a number to a given base is the index of the power to which the base must be raised in order to give the number.

Examples
100 = 10²
log10 (100) = 2 --------(this is base 10)

2³ = 8
log(2) 8 = 3------------(this is base 2)

natural logarithms are sometimes pronounced "lawn" in math. natural logarithms are logarithms with base e.
