Why are the French spineless?

I'm not a racist, it's just that at the first sign of trouble anywhere they are the first to stick thier nose in but offer no viable solutions.

Even since the second world war, the French have been so passive and disinterested with maintaining world security that they shouldn't really even be called French, they should be dubbed, "The Bench", as they obviously have a great time sitting on it... all the while everyone else tries to get something done about the inevitable neo-generational war that's brewing between the worlds nations.

I wouldn't say they're spineless, just completely footloose when it comes to their obligations as a member of NATO, the UN, and Europe in general.. preferring to criticise and complain than actually work with the rest of the world to fix it's problems..

Arguably we (the brits) or indeed the Amercians aren't any better as we also stick our noses into problems (and sometimes more) without offering any viable solutions. However its better to try and fail than do nothing and fail.

My regiment was twinned with the second battalion of the Foreign Legion prior to its amalgamation. This occured after we carried out a joint mission with them in Bosnia consisting of a particularly unpleasant uphill night assault in which we removed our blue helmets. As a result of this I can tell you they are not spineless.

Having said all that.....

Q- How many Frenchmen does it take to defend Paris?
A- No one knows, its never been tried.

Excellent, there are hints that no one remembers to thank the americans and the british for landing at normandy to save the french, they turn around and marry the communists just to get the americans and their airbases out of europe, remember it was the US to save france and not conquer her or it was the soviets to rule france with a communist fist of iron, or the other choice which was to give in to the germans, and look what happened, I don't think everyone is like this, but there's a messy paragraph left by history , love french brandy, can't stand the current european politics though,

Definition of the French having a backbone....,

When the U.S. were using dynamite to excavate trenches in the Gulf the Legion were using pick's that went in a quarter inch each swing, now, looking at a twelve foot trench, thats pretty hardcore!

I appreciate the sitting on the fence aspect, but you can't knock all of them, in history or modern day.

Thought it was the EYETIES who were nothing but cowards?Could be right though when i think about it.They surrendered to the Germans didn't they?Suppose that's why they are so friendly with the Germans now.Frightened in case they have another go.
