I've bought many things on ebay and ebay auctions. I've bought jewelry, a very good camera, my dad's baseball card, just all kinds of things. Be careful because you can be taken. When looking for a slr camera there were ads for cameras I couldn't afford and I bid and got one for $2000 underprice. It seemed to good to be true so I didn't pay as quickly as I normally do but emailed the seller. I got an email back that said this is not my ad. Be careful. He must have reported the ad to ebay and they went after them and shortly thereafter I got an email from ebay saying it was a fraudulent ad. I looked for quite a while after that and noticed several more ads which I turned into ebay and they were removed. I also bought a sewing machine that when received was broken. The seller was nasty and told me I should have insured it. I did thru the mail but they only return the cost of the product and the mailing was really expensive. I filed a claim against the seller because he implied that I was stupid to have bought the machine and not to have insured it. In other words its a rip off and you insure and get the cash or repairs. Not my style. Ebay pursued this and he returned my money. . .all of it. I've also bought a couple of rings thru Trump Auctions. They are gorgeous and worth every penny. Sometimes they sell with free shipping which is a deal. But never buy from someone that approaches you to buy outside ebay, you will get screwed.

Cheaper stuff - I wouldnt feel secure buying items more than 100 dollars but you know things that maybe you could get a deal on that you need to buy anyways like around the house or books, shoes etc.

I have bought just about anything you can imagine. From books, CD's, DVD's, computers, and even several cars. If you are thinking of starting a business focus on one area. I have a friend who makes a killing selling car radiators. He pulls them at wrecking yards and then sells them on e-Bay. I have another friend who buys only name brand clothing at yard sales then sells it on e-Bay and makes some good side money.

I would buy products that have been discontinued.
Example:

Estee' Lauder's (Intuition Parfumed Powder and bath Gel...)
Bath and Body works (Juniper Breeze deoderant - or any of their deos as they discontinued them.......)
ANY discontinued parfumes or body sprays......
Us crazy women are ALWAYS looking for our favorites once they have been discontinued. We aren't fond of change.
Even a discontinued lipstick color.......

Ifyou can find a way to get these things overstocked once discontinued, you'll make a pretty penny.............
You will be SURPRISED how often cosmetic companies dicontinue shades and parfumes.............

Good Luck -

Stuff that's hard to find in everyday life, or really expensive. I'd buy:

True Religion Jeans
Se7en Jeans
Crystal navel tattoos
Stationary
Loose Swarovski crystals

Little stuff like that :)

i like unique things. things that aren't mass produced. they dont have to be expensive either. i love to give these things as gifts to my family....it just says that i tried to find something "out of the ordinary".

this one guy has a web-site where he sells toothpicks that he has hand carved into little people...like basketball players, golfers, wizards etc. he also carves faces into the sides of nuts.
