During 1800s, Anthropologists had a problem as to how
to classify human beings. One researcher proposed the
expression "intelligent animal". After advanced studies
on monkeys, it was dropped. Another researcher proposed
"tool using animal". After observing some animals
making wooden tools and sharpening them with knife like
stones, it was dropped. Another researcher proposed
"weapon using animal". A decade ago, a rare film was
shot in African forests. One short monkey was hit very
badly by a big monkey. The short monkey prepared a
wooden knife using stones and hid it on the top of a
tree. After some days, when the big monkey came to
attack the short monkey, it ran up to the tree for the
weapon it has hid and killed the big monkey. The one
thing that the anthropologists found with any group of
human beings, even if they did not have contacts with
the out side world for thousands of years, is
spirituality with some form of religion. So, man is a
"spiritual animal" if you want to call him that way.

The Upanishads say that "Manush" (human) was so named
because he has "Manas" a mind higher than that of the
animals which realises the divinity in creation. It was
present since the creation of human beings. Religion is
the characteristic feature of most of the human beings.
It is as eternal and and as unchanging as the Almighty.
Disbelief by a few will not affect it.

How do you know that there isn't??? Scientific fact....."Matter can neither be created nor destroyed", in other words, you cannot make something from nothing. So where did everything come from if there was nothing to start from?. A Bang?, What caused the bang? Where did all the elements come from to explode? There had do be divine intervention. Scientifically, that's the only thing that makes sense. Besides, to say absolutely that there is no God, one would have to be a God to make that statement, nobody knows the truth so nobody can make that absolute statement. Even the most devout atheist must consider that a supreme being could be possible, and I for one would rather believe that there IS a God and find out I'm wrong, than to believe there isn't and find out I'm wrong. If you don't believe in something, then you'll fall for any bull-crap out there.

Belief in God isn't about 'information'. It's about a relationship. God is a Person. He can and does show Himself to those who He has chosen from before the world began. The rest of you don't matter. Continue along your present path, just as you would if He really DIDN'T exist.

Or you might consider opening your mind and heart to the Truth.

I don't believe in "a god," I believe in God. No matter how much information is out there, we still need guidance in how to deal with the difficulties and pleasures of everyday life. We should constantly question how we deal with others, and sometimes we need a moral benchmark to carry us through turbulent times. Sometimes we need comfort, or relief from guilt whether we understand the reason for feeling it or not, or simply to not feel alone. There's no doubt this can be mishandled, and mishandled destructively, but the same can also be said of philosophies that shun religion. You misunderstand if you think faith becomes dispensable once we know enough. Faith is concerned with your mundane drudge of a life, not your high-flying aspirations to ultimate knowledge. In fact, it's the latter that's more likely to cause problems.

The more we know, the more a Creator becomes necessary to complete our knowledge.

Let me give you an example:

We formulate laws in physics that are both valid and verifiable - and some of these laws actually make a Creator necessary - for instance, we know that matter or energy cannot be created, yet we start the inconceivable amount of energy and matter present in our observable universe off with a dimensionless singularity and go from there.
And the various theories of the origin of life all start off with the building blocks already in place, with no attempt at theorizing where these originated from.

Albert Einstein said it best:

"Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind."

I'm only speaking for myself, here.
Belief gives me comfort, an immediate connection, to something else. (Perhaps bigger than me, thus, implied security - It watches over me).
I know my relationship with (my idea of) 'God' exists entirely in my imagination.
For all the technology in the world, I remain a primitive.
I jump, when there's a loud clap of thunder. I can rationally explain thunder, but I still jump.
All the technological 'advances' in the world wont take away from me the fact that I am much like my ancestors. Human.
Maybe the gift of imagination is the explanation.

Consider the source of information.....the media... you hear what they want you to hear. The world has been cruel since the begining of time. We all have choice to do right or wrong. God is gracious to give us choice.

God flooded the world when evil and wickeness were going on, turned a city to salt, can you imagine what evil things went on then? But we all have choice.....

Think about this:
What is a true definition of love? For me its someone who pushes me to be a better person. All the rocks in my paths are things I have to push through to be a better person.

God cant give me or you anything we cant handle. Vice Versa- He wont give you what your praying for if you cant handle it.......

well, its obviously a personal choice. Its more the belief in a greater being. It helps to believe in something. And i guess each person is different, but It gives me hope and makes it seem like I am not so alone.
Do I really know if there is a god?
no I do not.
Do I like to believe in god?
yes i do.
