I was just wondering ahead of time how you guys will spin Bush's retreat when it finally comes, and you all know it's coming right? The Brits pulling out was the latest sign of failure of the Bush plan.

Yes, they will blame democrats and anyone else but themselves. They will blame Iran, Democrats, Liberals, the Troops, the terrorists, "Liberal Media", Russia, the Iraqi people, the Iraqi government, Syria, Jordon and Cindy Sheehan. But they will never take responsibility for this failed policy or this failure of a president. They only know how to tell others that they need to take personal responsibility but don't practice what they preach.

Oh, they will, although I don't know when. Some feel they are already laying the groundwork. It's going to be a tough sell though. The people aren't as dumb as they think--look at the last election. They have lost so much credibility that many of their own are not even on board with them anymore. It will be interesting to see if traditional conservatives can take the party back from the fundies and the neo-cons. I expect the party to remain in disarray for some time.

I've already heard the spins, like the one that expressing opposition should be a crime.

I'm still trying to figure out what the benefit of invading and occupying Iraq is....it certainly isn't doing anything for anyone except the companies supplying the billion dollar contracts....I guess war is good for business....it's like the Star Wars lie...it can't protect us from multiple missiles unless we spend trillions of dollars (and even then it might only protect our military bases and 20 largest cities)...the rest would be allowed to destroy farmland...there isn't even a visible threat from any country at this time that is capable of an all out nuclear strike, but Bush is pushing it...the only people that would benefit from unlimited spending is the largest military corporation....our tax dollars at work once again.

Funny about the answer above me stating that he was worried that "THE NEXT PRESIDENT" would pull out of Iraq early (what 3-4 years from now) so that Iraq doesn't turn into another Vietnam...Clearly, if we do not change our thinking, this will be another Vietnam

The Brits succeeded. They had easier areas to secure. Not to say that mistakes were not made by Bush but If we leave unfinished business then the millions slaughtered will be the Democrats doing not Bush's.
I'm glad you picked up on this fact so soon. It shows you have vision it's just a bit blurry is all.
The Brits have only pulled out of secured area's that the Iraqi police and military can handle.
Though if the left continues to embolden the terrorists than yes they will be known as "The New Butcher's of Baghdad.". Call a spade a spade!!

Peace

It will fail if we pull out too soon! I am very frightened it will be another Vietnam. I think we should have stayed and had a better plan! If the next president pulls out prematurely, I will scream bloody murder! I know that you must think I am a little nuts and maybe I am but we need to hang in there. I have hope that the American people will realize how threatening it will be if we pull out. We will send a message that we gave up and to the insurgents that they won. They will be even more bold and try to attack us "infidels" again! DO NOT FORGET THE LESSONS OF SEPTEMBER 11,2001! They are still out there and we have to get them before they attack us again! I am not a person who carries guns or am one who is very radical but if we pull out early and no one comes to Iraq's aid, I will fear for my safety. If a better plan was proposed by a Democrat that sounded half plausible, even from Hilary Clinton (shudder), then I would be willing to follow it. I am not a war veteran, I am not some one who praises George W. Bush for all of his actions but I am a History student and the phrase "historia est magistra vitae" (history is the teacher of life) comes to mind.If the Democrats threaten my freedom and safety by pulling out early then I will blame them! If Bush's plan fails horribly, I will blame myself even though I was unable to vote for him (not old enough). I know many others who will blame Democrats because all they do is promise a better strategy and they only offer to retreat! So, yes, they will blame Democrats because they never offered up a half plausible strategy that would not leave the citizens of the United States of America in danger.

Well I think Bush will spend the rest of his presidency in Iraq so he doesn't have to deal with that issue... and perhaps it will help his party because if they feel the job is undone as many might they won't have to send soldiers back in to fight, they can just leave them there... and now they can come up with a strategy in Iraq to run on... then no one will have to focus on social issues... Like the last election instead of things that mattered people voted based on gay marriage and abortion... not you know health care and dying soldier, they just wanted to make sure brenda had her baby and queers didn't marry, and Kerry is such a bad public speaker so that didn't hurt! But if leaving has catostrophic results... i'll blame bad planning and the media! Sometimes I think the media are idiots, not every move the soldiers make needs to ba announced... we don't need to see horrors everynight, I wish there could just be one special showing the good things being done, just for one night so our soldier being brave and helping out, instead of just telling us what got shot down and who got blown up.... Its such a biases media approach!

It was not pointless to Hillary, Kerry and a ton of other left wing nuts who had the same information YEARS BEFORE! Are you kidding ME! We (americans-the correct as well as Liberals) LOST due to a non-stop drum beat of negative ad's since 2000. Who constantly plays the race card, denounces prosperity, and taxes the snot out anyone who happens to be "Rich"? When the next attack comes, under a demoncratic president, who will you blame?

The Bush Administration has no final victory plan.

So when the war fails.....neocons will just blame the Liberals. They will never blame themselves for failure.

No, we pretty much accept that any war in defense of America and/or our allies will not only be fought against the enemy, but against the democrats who seek to appease and encourage them. It's been the nature of the liberal beast since Vietnam, so if Bush didn't see it coming this time then he's as dense as you say he is.

So I won't blame liberals for the loss, but Bush for allowing you to contribute to it.

Its not Bushes friggin war it all of ours, like americans, maybe if more people thought that, the ememies would not think they just have to keep media pressure on the president and the US will pull out and let them win....they love the liberals and play to them like crazy. its really to bad, the soldiers will eventually be the losers if the country doesnt come together and FIGHT the Enemy...
