Since D-Wade is out the Heat will miss the playoffs........lets remember people the Knicks are only 3 games out of the 8 spot right now and as of 10:45 p.m. the heat are losing to the Mavs 54-36...so lets make that only 2.5 games behind ..........the Heat also have upcoming games against the Cavs, Pistons, Bulls, Wizards, and the Knicks....so by the end of the next 2 1/2 weeks.....the Knicks could have a 2 or 3 game lead on the Heat for that 8 spot......Knicks will make the playoffs.

I say yes, it is very likely they will make the playoffs
they are only 3 games behind miami for 8th place right now and 5.5 games behind toronto in the atlantic division.
They could easily make the #8 seed if they start playing just a little better, but then again with the injury to dwayne wade maybe the miami heat will collapse, meaning theyre only real competitor for 8th place would be the New Jersey Nets who are only 1 game ahead of them and have also lost 7 of there Last 10.
This being said ,hoping that the heat start losing games, I say the New York Knicks should and will make the #8 seed. However I hate to say they cannot beat the Detroit Pistons in the First Round
Sorry, but hope this helps
P.S good luck, i'm still rootin for the Knicks

I think they will make it. I am a Knicks fan but thats not the reason why i think so. The Eastern Conference is relatively weak compared to the West, most of the teams in the East are close to or under the .500 mark while a lot of the teams in the West are over it. The Knicks are making little strides lately with a more steady rotation. Also, the players are playing with more teamwork. The players this year also seem to have more energy then they did last year. Eddy Curry is definitly having a career year and so is Jamal. Stephon is also showing more energy and shows the reason we wanted him in NY. Also role players like David Lee has stepped up to average a double double and rookies like Renaldo Balkman brings a ton of energy off the bench.

I think that the Knicks have a real good chance to make the playoffs. There destiny is in there own hands. As of today the knicks are 3.5 games out of the final spot. And I don't think New Jersey is going anywhere. To many injuries are probably going to leave Jersey out of the playoffs. Also, Miami without Wade they are pretty much dead in the water. Shaq is not going to carry that team. But the Knicks HAVE to play very consistent Basketball from here on out to get in. They have to stop losing to bad teams and get on a roll.

I am a New Yorker and I really might think New York is going to make it into the playoffs because Dwyane Wade is injured and might not come back until the end of the season and Miami is gone, so Nets just stink and New York is going to get into the playoffs at the #8 seed in the playoffs.

In the crappy Eastern Conference, there is always a chance, with the Nets floundering and the Heat losing D-Wade. But the Knicks need to start winning and soon!

It depends on if Dwayne Wade is out for the rest of the season for the heat. The knicks are not far behind and if they play .500 ball, they could pass the heat, who w/o Wade will lose a lot more than they will win.

at first i didnt think they could but with the possibility of d-wade missing the rest of the season the knicks could just barely squeak in that no.8 spot
