When one material is rubbed against another electrons jump readily from one to the other but the protons do not. Why is that

Electrons are light and are weakly bound to an atom, easily dislodged. Protons are heavy and strongly bound in the nucleus by the strong nuclear force. Very hard to dislodge.

Because the force that binds the nucleons ie the neutrons & protons together in the nucleus is unimaginably huge. This force is made use of in a nuclear bomb or in a nuclear reactor by spitting the nucleus of an uranium atom. But the force that binds electrons to the atom is not strong therefore electron can 'jump' from one material to another just by friction. For releasing aproton from anucleus it must be bombarded with subatomic particle like alpha particle.
This is all i know about it.I hope u got it.

Because protons are locked inside the nucleus, and it takes severe conditions of radiation or temperature to get at them - unless the isotope is unstable and decays by itself, in which case you don't want to be anywhere near it because then it's radioactive.

Electrons are much less massive particles (or waves) existing in probability shells far away from the nucleus and are much easier to move around. This process is what forms the chemical bonds which make life and these questions possible.

The mutual repulsion felt between two substances because of their outermost electrons is also what prevents materials from passing right through each other (such as your hand through a desk), which they otherwise could since atoms are mostly empty space.

Electrons are on the outer shell of the atom. The protons and neutrons are held tightly with in the nucleus.

while an electron absorbs means , it jumps to a bigger shell. while it supplies off means interior the form of photons, it jumps to a decrease shell. there is not any decrease to the kind of shells. They pass to infinity.
