I am starting a business and would like to paint vacant apartments. So is there any landlords that would pay someone to paint your apartments, how much would pay for 1 2 and 3 bedroom apartments. Also what way would someone contacting you about this be more appealing to you. Mailing, calling, or coming to your door or anything else you can think of also what area are you from Thanks

As a startup, it is important to get the first contract. Offer to lower your price on the first 2 or 3 deals in return for references. I'd suggest calling every "For Rent" sign you see as well as contacting every rental management company in your service area. See if you can get on their referral lists. Finally learn who your competitors are and what you can do different, better, cheaper or faster.

Your going to need references. I have rentals and do my own painting but I'm also a bookkeeper and one of my clients is a large apartment complex. They often hire outside help to paint and remodel if they are very busy or have some type of disaster. Most that are hired come by word of mouth or somebody that works there knows them and can vouch for their work. A few years back I considered it myself and to get started someone suggested to me that I go to older more established neighborhoods where the owners may be getting a bit older, have a bit more cash flow, and not want to go up the ladder to paint the trim on houses. It can be a good start, keep good books and with permission, you will build up a clientele and references quickly. Hope this helps.
