DVDDecryptor is now unsupported. It'll work for now, but soon newer protection schemes will render it obsolete.
Download DVD43. It's free and works with most ripper apps like 1ClickDVDCopy (I use 1click pro-nice software) and Nero. It just strips the protection from the disk so your software sees the disk (DVD or CD) as unprotected. Nothing easier.
As for better, 1ClickDVDCopy is the easiest I've ever seen. I've seen folks that are terrified of computers fall in love with this app.
As an extra, try DVDShrink.
Check out afterdawn.com and doom9.org for in depth info on ripping. They have tutorials and free user forums for those hard to answer questions. These sites are where the gurus hang out.

Depends on what your doing, I use both If I'm going to convert to xvid or something I use dvd decryper. If I'm simply going to copy the dvd, I use dvd fab platnum. Any dvd is good too, but why pay when you can use the best stuff available for free.
