In my home I have a 2 routers....I was wondering if i can connect my second unused router to my desktop and use it as a access point to connect to my new main router?

Yes, just use a cross over Ethernet cable.

You may have trouble with the double NAT on some VoIP services.

Are you talking about a wired router or wireless?

I dont see why you would ask if it was a wired router as you would still have to run a cable between routers, as you would just to the computer.

So I am going to assume you mean wirelessly. The answer is NO, unless your router has a bridge mode in its setup functions, which most access points do, but most routers do not.

Yes you can use one of the 4th ports of the first one and connect it to the green port or the one that is away from the rest the connect 4 more computers or however many ports your router has

this will allow you to expand your network
