I'm sorry but I don't have any web sites.. Education in middle ages in Europe? For a select few, yes, academic education was important. But for the commoner, their "education" was kept in the realm of a trade or skill. On average, it took the "average" archer almost a full twenty years to become both strong enough to pull the string back on the bow and proficient enough to be considered for battle. This was a sad period for the church. Most of Europe was governed by the Catholic Church and the thinking at the time was simply that only the clergy and royalty need know how to read, write and perform various math skills. The people were intentionally kept in the dark. Hence the name "The Dark Ages."

it was only for the very rich.The poor were forced into labour or to fight for the rich.
