Im thinking about learning how play guitar and was wondring what guitar would be best to start with. thanks Jon

If you're a beginner and buying a guitar get something cheap to start off on. I would recommend a squire, the fretboard isn't too sharp or heavy (in my opinion) and it's a nice all-rounder

A Squire Strat or Telecaster would do just fine. If you're near a Guitar Center, they usually go for around $200.

for Fender I would say a squire stratocaster.
For Gibson i would say epiphone les paul or sg.
Don't go with anything expensive at first until you break yourself in & know you are going to stick with it.

Well, Fender is now making Stratocasters in Mexico that are very affordable and have a good sound. Of course they don't have as good a sound as an American-made one, but they sound nice!!
