Worse...the whole world hates us now...George is trying to Bushwack the constitution. It sucks!

Right after 9/11 George Bush had an 80% approval rating, even when he went into Afghanistan it held, people were displaying their flags, there were many bi-partisan initiative in congress. I do not remember the U.S. being so united, I would guess it would rival WW l l. People came together. After the invasion of Iraq and with each fact that came out of it after his approval rating dropped dramatically. Congress became adversarial and the American people became divided. I think that things have gotten worse since that day. Because of the reasons stated above. Remember Lincoln said a house divided cannot stand. Something needs to be done to bring the American people together again. Hopefully it won't be another 9/11.

I don't think it has had much affect on America. Oh sure, it did in the beginning. Church pews were filled, we were ready to fight, security was tightened, etc. But look at us now. America is against the war, churches are back to the numbers prior to 9-11, security has become lax. I think Americans live a much better life than most of the world so we tend to forget the bad things after awhile. But you can rest assured, that while Americans are getting on with their lives, the terrorist are getting on with their plans for more attacks. When we think all is well and we are protected is when we will be hit again. We must be alert at all times and never, ever underestimate the enemy. Our goal is to live the "American Dream" while their goal is our destruction. The 2008 election will be a turning point in America and not a good one. Evil never rests.

I think American has changed for the worse.

1. The Bush administration has squandered the unity we felt in America as well as the good will that the entire world felt towards us.

2. American voters did not pay enough attention to what was going on and re-elected Bush in 2004.

3. Any decisions (like voting, for one example) that are based on fear are never good decisions. This is as true for one individual as it is for an entire country. Too many Americans let themselves be scared by color alerts and other scary tactics (hmmm...where have those alerts gone?), and the result is that we have given up far too many of our constitutional rights.

At first for the better. But it doesnt take long for the liberals to act indifferent. Many college campuses still didnt put flags up.
Showed their discontent and told their students we had it coming.

Well the best liberals in this country were on those planes, in the buildings they died and they didn't do anyting to deserve it.

We are America and quite frankly I don't care what the rest of the world thinks. I know one thing...more people come to this country, either legally or illegally than all the other countries combined...and that is a fact. Not for liberalism/communism/socialism, but for freedom of opportunity.

Talk to some who come from the old Eastern bloc countries, they will tell you that the democratic liberal party is very similar to the communist country they detested. Its just devised better in here.

The worse part about America is there are too many Chamberlains and not enough Churchills. Unfortunately in the next 20 years we will need a Patton. Fortunately I hope we find him or her.

For the better. We are more vigilant and we don't take things for granted. I get a kick out of people who say the world hates us now. Who is the world? Does the world include the many poor countries we support with food, medicine, and kind hearted American volunteers? People like Nancy dwell only on the negative. Must su^k to be her.

Worse

1. Politicians are not willing to fight terrorists. Democrats are in charge and all they do is spend 2 weeks debating a meaningless resolution that only tells the enemy we are not willing to stick it out.

2. The NY Times has on at least 3 occasions leaked classified government programs that monitored our enemies. The whole thing has been politicized into domestic spying.

3. The American people do not support our efforts and about 1 out of 6 deny there is a problem. These hippie leftists believe that we are the problem.

Worse.

It was going down the crapper before 9 / 11 though.

They've spent tons of money on war, destroying spending on domestic programs.

They've created more global instability by squaring up against everyone against them.

They've infringed on human rights within the US and globally.

Your assertion is a lie: "The distant places Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) shall we the government pay attention in to all of our calls with out any in all hazard reason. " It does no longer. It facilitates them to hearken to calls that come for the time of united statesa. to or from widely used terrorists or their widely used allies. Calls from around the globe are rapidly routed via the u . s . a .. This regulation made it a threat for us to hearken to those calls. Your statements might have been your lie, or yet another's, despite the fact that it remains a lie.

Worse.
It gave Bush the opportunity for his " forever war " of choice,
It gave political right wing opportunists and fear mongers the chance they needed to attack constitutional protected basic rights and it persuaded a number of weak minded sheep to support Bush in his bid for re election.

Well, apart from the sudden and unexpected death of my precious father, which has made everything seem worse, he and I had agreed before he died that things were seriously wrong here. In fact, he died saying he wouldn't live to see his country get back on track, and it deeply saddened him, a retired military man.

Three things that are worse -
1)Americans revealed that many of them can be easily manipulated by an idiotic demagogue.
2)We have tolerated the destruction of our constitution by Bush and his henchman Attorney General "habeus corpus doesn't apply to everyone individually" Gonzales.
3)We've watched the systematic looking of our treasury - 8 billion in bundles of hundred dollar bills stolen in Iraq and many no bid multibillion dollar contracts to Cheney's halliburton.

In sum, we are broke, disgraced, and rapidly moving towards fascism.
