It was created in 2003 and the three people that are still with the show and started with it are Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage as the hosts and Robert Lee as the narrator.

From the Beginning Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman were the co-hosts. Jamie owns a special effects creation Warehouse where they create special toys and props for the film and movie warehouse. Adam is Jamie's employee or partner. They do like to work together and on the show they treat each other equally.
Mythterns: Kari Byron and Scottie Chapman were brought into the show as interns (unpaid assistants). Scottie dropped out and Kari Byron is now a full cast member
Grant Imahara and Tory Belleci joined the show soon after and are now considered full cast members.

it was just jamie and adam at first then they added those other people
but i dunno when it was first created
