Do you think it should still be wrong for a man to hit a woman?

I honestly don't care. maybe it is because i can hold my own. but then aren't we supposed to be equal? i think it is wrong for someone who is obviously and way more stronger in any case than another person shouldn't. and absolutely noone should hit anyone without a reasonably reason. but not exact male and female. I mean being a female doesn't automatically deem you weak. Im a girl and I can leg press 350 pounds(and more than like 20 reps) no joke.

but even if all girls are weaker than all girls, i dont think that the rule should be there. because i think the main reason many girls aren't as strong as males a lot of the times is because they don't really try as much. and I think getting rid of the rule would encourage more women to get out there and learn to defeng themselves instead of relying on men for almost everything requiring physical exertion.

i don't mean in a domestic violence sense or randomly. I mean in general. like if a guy is defending himself then people think it is wrong but like to me, no one should have to sit there and take hits from people. you should have the right to defend yourself no matter what.

If the chick deserves it then she should get popped!! I think a lot of women push it by screaming at their man because they "know" that a man isn't supposed to hit a woman. If you're woman enough to act tough like a man, you're woman enough to be hit :)

Its a respect issue on the mans side more than anything else. Ive always thought that if im punching a guy in the face for no reason, then he has every right to hit me back, but the fact is the guys who actually WOULD are not respectful toward woman.And absolutley being a female doesnt make you weak, I can punch and hurt someone, my arms are strong,but not as strong as my boyfriend not even close.It doesnt make it right for a man to hit a woman, because of society/religious standards, morals,values, and just the plain ol fact that most woman really dont have a chance against most men.

I agree with one point .. no one should hit anyone! As far as a man hitting a woman .. YES it SHOULD BE and IS still wrong! Just because you can defend yourself, doesn't make it OK for a guy to hit you!

Some women grow up with domestic abuse in the house. They learn that it's 'normal' and are often attracted to the type of man who will perpetuate the abuse. It's a huge emotional handicap and not easy to 'unlearn'.

I'm glad you're big enough and bad enough to take care of yourself, and hope somewhere along the line you'll acquire some empathy for those who aren't.

I think it should always be wrong. I do not think it is really sexist either. It is just something a good parent would teach their son. Also, what if the woman was pregnant, even if she was strong she still could not really defend herself or her unborn child. I believe there are many instances in which it is wrong to hit a woman. I agree that is good that woman should know how to defend herself, however, I would expect to have go through life thinking that parents raised their kids to think it was okay to hit anybody.

I think it's wrong for anybody to hit anyone unless the other person hits them first. Women don't have any more right to hit a man than a man has a right to hit a woman. Anyone who hits another person should expect to be hit back.

I was raised up to respect a woman and to never hit one. This is a shameful thing for a man to do in my opinion and any man that does is a coward in my eyes. I also don't believe that a woman should ever hit a man unless she has to defend herself from an attacker or something.

I can definitely see where you're coming from, but i think most women are weaker than men today, and for the exact reason that you said, because they let themselves be. but i think that changing the rule now would result in too many women getting hurt, because the transition would be rough.

That's why l left my ex husband, he was very abusive. I don't think men should hit woman and on the same token I don't think women should hit men. It's just wrong.

Defending yourself isn't how strong you are, it's what you know. You may be able to bench press whatever, but I guarantee you I can take you down and have you screaming in pain in seconds from chin na, which is martial arts defense. Just by using your pressure points.
