I'm 37 and I am SO looking forward to 50. By then the last of the kids will be thru college and there won't be a compelling reason for me to continue working (my assets will be turning in more income every month than my job). I can enjoy what I've been working toward all these years with my best friend in the world (my wife).

I don't want to know anymore about 50... It would spoil it!

I would like to think you will survive twice as well as when you turned 25. My turn for 50 is coming sooner than I would like, but I am trying to be upbeat about it. When I was small, 50 sounded sooo old. Now, however, it is a physical age and my mind does not yet register me to be 50. People are living much longer than they did, say 50 years ago (sorry, had to do that) If it is any consolation, you are not alone in your difficulty with 50. For women, they get to join the Red Hat Society, I don't know what men get. Fifty requires a new mindset in my opinion. Think of it as a new chapter in your life. Try to eat healthy and stay fit and live your life to the fullest you can. Surround yourself with other POSITIVE thinking 50 year olds. With age, comes experience and wisdom. Just think how many stupid things you are NOT going to do any more. 50 is really not so bad! And that's my story and I'm sticking to it. I just hope I can retain that mindset when I turn 50. If nothing else, it will give you a chance to see how many older Yahoo'ers use this site.

Take a cute 30 year old to an Aerosmith concert, relax
and know that age has nothing to do with your youthfulness.
I have a boutique that sells shirts with crystal skulls, mini
skirts, off the shoulder shirts, Ugs and vintage clothes.
The average age of my customer is 50 to 60! 50 is the
new thirty so get into your closet and pitch all the knit-wear,
panty hose and granny underwear. Hit Victoria's Secret,
get some sexy little Tees, go to a tanning salon and have
your legs done, wear open toes sandles with red polish.
Grow your hair to your waist and get rockin'. If you worry
about every line and wrinkle, you're going to get more.
Remember, other people don't care what you do or
look like, they only care about themselves. Reinvention
was made for this age. Have fun, loosen up and start
living the way you did when you were young...all the
possibilities and dreams are still ahead of you.

First of all why is it the most difficult? If you didn't know what age you were turning would you have a problem? I think we are truely as old as we feel, so if you are 28 and feeling 50, so be it. If you are 50 feeling 28 so be it. It is a state of mind....we allow it take over if we want it to. If there are things you want to do, then do them. Don't let age stand in the way, but on the other hand don't always put off something you really want to do.......someday you might be looking in the mirror and going **** I'm 80!

I am 58 and my wife is 60, I feel the same inside as I did when I was 30 and am trying to find new things to do with my life. I work out, plan to travel later this year. If you look in the mirror and want to look 20 again you will be 60 before you know it. Just be happy in youself and get on to enjoy what's left of your life

You should embrace the next stage in your life and be glad you've lived this long! The average life span used to be way younger... hahaha and 50 is like the new 40.

Since my turning of the age into 48 years now, the middle age crisis thing never really grabbed me. I love myself and my age and my grey-silver hair.

If you just hap up along a young lady at Panama City at the age of 21...oh well time to play hot dog bun.

Embrace it! Start a new hobby, or meet new friends! I know a woman who is 67 and she decided one day to move into her new RV and see the country! Please don't think your life is over because you are 50.. you have SO much more to do!! Go start doing things you never got to but always wanted to.. enjoy the little things in life. Have fun!
