The only way a manatee might have killed a human is if the human were traveling at high speed in a boat, hit the manatee, and then died as a result of the collision. Manatees don't even have canine or incisor teeth - they only have molars in the back of their mouths - so, they may not even be capable of biting someone hard enough to cause damage.

Manatee or sea-cow, as the name appropriately suggests is a docile creature. It feeds only on river plants. It does not bother anyone. It never gets angry. It is slow-moving, surface feeder.

The fact is: More manatees are killed by men for huge amount of flesh; and by boat propellers accidentally (as they swim on the surface and stupid and slow enough to move away from the propellers). Check the site for more appropriate information.
