Martin Luther King, Jr. Someone who had the guts to stand up for what he believed in, went out and spoke his mind about those beliefs, risked his life to do so, even went behind bars for it...because he wanted to make lives better for future generations as well as the one he was in. Regardless if those that read this believe in his cause, you have to admire anyone who is willing to do what he was willing to do. That is the American way and what Freedom truly is all about...ultimate death for Freedom.

There are so many that it's incredible to have to choose one. General George S. Patton is the first one that comes to mind, and then the late actor and later B-17 or B-24 pilot during WWII, James (Jimmy) Stewart. Also the late Arizona Cardinal and U.S. Army Ranger Pat Tillman is a strong one for me. And then all the U.S. soldiers who have died trying to preserve the American way of life in any and all wars or skirmishes, etc., some of whom have gone to their graves "unknown" to us through American media and journalism. I think the "common thread" in all these men is that they gave of themselves beyond what the normal person seems to so that others could have the freedom that we enjoy today. And, if that be the measure by which I admire people, my dad, who fought the Japanese at Okinawa in WWII and my son who fought the terrorists in Operation Iraqi Freedom come to mind. And then, Pope John Paul II, and the current Pope with whom John Paul II worked close with over the decades, Pope Benedict XVI, have proven their worth in striving to hold the Roman Catholic Church to its God-given foundation. And, if I bring God into it, who could not hold Jesus our Christ in the place of ultimate admiration. God Bless you.

Leonardo da Vinci.
A man with a truly remarkable mind, a scientist, artist, anatomist and inventor. And not just competent at all of these but excellent.

I get the feeling he's one of the few people you could take forwards or backwards on a time-travel journey and who wouldn't be phased but utterly curious.

I admire the great general of Korea in the Imjin War. His tactics were flawless as he devised ways to destroy the japanese navy from destroying the southern borders of Korea. On one of his defensive strikes he defeated 333 (damaging or destroying about >200) with only 12 warships and one small galley. But sadly he gave his life away on his last battle which officially drove away the japanese.

I really like shakespeare, he came off as very open-minded and a rare man to be nonsexist. He also had the best vocabulary anyone has ever been recorded to have. So smart, interesting, open minded, original, adventurous, etc. yeah.
