I have Windows XP Service Pack 2 Home Edition. I created one Administrator account, but I forgot the password for it. I didn't provide a hint and I don't have the reboot disk. How can I remove or recover the password from a standard account?

womp womp, tut, tut, well u cnt recover the password unless u do some hacking but ne ways lets not get into that, your gonna have to change the password, luckily microsoft provided a backdoor for this, just go into safe mode (restart the computer and press F8 before the boot screen that says windows xp) you should see a list of options come up with a black screen and white words, click on Safe Mode, log into the Safe Mode Administrator section jus like how u would log into windows xp without a password, wen uve logged in jus change the password by goin to control panel and user accounts, hope the info helps

Boot to Safe Mode, choose Administrator, it should be blank password for the Computer Administrator, and go to control panel and delete the admin account in there, and start over.. Good Luck

A google search on 'crack administrator password' will get you a number of responses, such as at: http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/
These utilities will allow you to replace the admin password with a password of your choice.
You have to download the tool, create a bootable floppy disk as per their instructions, then boot from the floppy and run the crack.
The above website provides all the software you will need, and instructions on how to use it.
