are you looking for a pat on the back from them??.. there are no rewards for doing good deeds in this life. the only reward is the deed you have done in itself. period. there is no need to parade it around. just know what you did was the right thing.

That's a good question. I wonder, too, if I should tell my dtr some facts that she doesn't know. If you don't tell, then there will always be a kind of barrier to understanding between you. It could be that they understand something totally different about their past - a misunderstanding or mis-memory of why things were the way they were. I don't know the answer for you. With
time, I plan to reveal bits and pieces with the aim of creating more understanding.

I guess that would depend on why you would be telling them. Will it improve their life knowing this information? Do you want them to feel guilty and feel as if they owe you something?

no, think of it from their point of view....you'd make them feel bad and guilty and they'd pity you. would you really want your parent telling you that??
