well, i am 16 years old, im 5'10, 162lbs, i am on a very very very insanely healthy diet, i am in great athletic condition, I can already grab the basketball rim, but i cannot dunk, ive done many calf/quad exercise like toe raises, jump rope(excessively),leg press, jumpsole workouts, and more. Any suggestions on how to increase my vertical leap so i can dunk.(and i can palm the ball so that isnt a factor)

Strength training is certainly most helpful as well as other things you have done. Improving leg strength and flexibility is a necessity. Explosive lifts and plyometric exercises are also very useful. Vertical, in basketball, is important but also the ability to jump quickly...meaning you can get up quick..not just get up high. An example of a quick jumper is Shawn Marion..when he jumps, he gets up quick. Yeah, he has a nice vertical, but he also gets to his high point very quickly, which is most beneficial.

GIVE UP!!! im 5'10...been doing exercises for years.....can barely grab rim 2 hands...........done WAY TO MUCH work with very little improvement.....on my vertical that is........all the work outs make me a better football player though........... but yea most think its in the calfs....nah. whole leg..........about explosion obviously.......notice those who can jump have very thin legs.......i don't...got football player legs...accidently...

get some big *** leg weights and practice with them and never take them off tell u want to dunk it and then u will fly like an eagle

just keep working on it lol, always try dunking. u will eventually get it. u also might b able to grow a little more so that might help.

get some confidense . get a nine foot hoop and do crazy dunks. then try 9.5 then 10

people I've talked to have all recommended box jumps. I'm sure you can find info on these online.

You can try using a trampoline to get more air.
