Last month I had the same problem. I went to the doctor because the bleeding was very abnormal (also trying to get pregnant). I also had a large clot. I found out that more than likely I had been pregnant and had a miscarriage. The doctor told me it is actually a pretty common thing and many women don't know that it's even happened. I don't mean to scare you but that could be a possibility. I bled for 10 or 11 days straight. Normal is 3-5 for me. So if you are having a long period you could have been pregnant. (Very Early) If you don't stop bleeding soon or you have a lot of cramps you may want to go see your doctor. Good Luck to you.

It is normal to get heavy bleeding and clots on the 2nd day of period. Somtimes the flow is so heavy that I need to change 3 pads within an hr. This will affect anything if u ttc, but if u r pregnant and u r having heavy bleeding... pls consult a doc immediately!!

relies upon how vast the clots are, in the event that they're bigger than a a million/2 greenback you'll be able to desire to flow to the ER by way of fact meaning you're having a miscarriege. i became bleeding heavy while i became pregnant yet i had no clots come out.

Once in a while I get a very heavy period and clotting. I've called my doctor about it, and they reassured me that it's nothing to worry about, as long as it slows down! If it continues, then you need to head in to your doctors office, or to the ER. Also, if you start to have large clots, then you may want to give the office a call. Good luck!! I hope everything turns out okay!

clots are a normal part of menstruation. however, if you are already pregnant, you shouldn't be bleeding heavily or passing clots. if you are not pregnant, the clots will not hurt the baby when you do get pregnant.

I have had this numerous times. The doctor told me that it is usually a result of the lining of the uterus having been thicker that month and the body is just trying to expel that extra lining. They told me that it is nothing to worry about unless it doesn't stop. I had that happen 2 times and they had to put me on OCP to stop it both times because I had been bleeding for over three weeks.

From what I know, this could be a sign that you have fybroids in your uterus. This can be treated, but if you are trying to get pregnant, you may want to have this cleared up by your ob. They can look at your uterus by using a vaginal ultrasound.
