What (fractional) part of a complete revolution is an angle of 45 degrees?

pi/4 = 45degrees.

45/360 = 1/8

If a complete revolution is 2pi then a 45 degree angle is 1/4pi.

If a complete revolution is 1 then a 45 degree angle is 1/8.

Let's step it through...

A full circle is 360 degrees.

So if we cut that in half - half a rotation - we've gone 180 degrees.

Cut THAT in half (or a quarter of a rotation), and we've gone 90 degrees.

Cut THAT in half (or now, an eigth of a rotation), and we've gone 45 degrees...

So...the answer is one eigth of a complete revolution.
