Moved from NY to MD, what is the best way to make new friends?

I am in my late 30's and just moved from NY to MD. I am looking to make some new friends in the area.

What are good clubs and organizations in Baltimore, Maryland that share my similar interests? Greatly appreciate it if you could provide the name of the organization, number, and location so I can contact them personally. Also, tell me why you like the organization and if you are already a member.

My interest are:
Sailing
Woodwork
Growing orchids
Literature
Fly fishing
I am Irish (Is there an Irish community in MD?)

I know this doesn't go along with your interests that you have listed but if you like playing sports (socially or competitively) check out Baltimore Sports and Social Club... I've played Broomball and softball and it's a blast!!!! Met lots of great people ages early 20's up to 40's. I'm sorry you have moved to Bmore from NY... good luck, I hated it and have moved back. Have fun with the awful Bawl-mer accent.
