That would be about 35th Avenue & Glendale/Northern right? Not the best area but not the worst either. Probably see helicopters and spotlights overhead on a regular basis and better brush up on your Spanish as english is a second language in the area and you won't be able to communicate at any store otherwise. Schools in the area aren't the best either but I suppose there are exceptions and AZ is an open enrollment state. It really depends, I have a friend that lives around there are swears it is great and there are some older neighborhoods like hers that seem nice. She says a cop friend of hers said that the crime stats in those neighborhoods are actually much lower than the surrounding area. But, that doesn't keep your car from getting stolen from the mall or grocery when you have to leave the neighborhood. As an Arizona native, I would never live West of the I-17 freeway and South of Glendale.

That address is not where I would want my child living, not that it's horrible, but it's not the greatest part of town. Choose something further north, northwest or north and east. Tempe area or Chandler. The address you gave is in the area that is unfortunately on the fringes of the gang territory.

Try Chandler or Tempe. If you're a student, there is very affordable student housing available in Tempe.
