I'm about 6 weeks pregnant. How many weeks until my stomach will start to get bigger and harder?

The uterus doesn't actually get big enough to start peeping out from the top of the pelvis until you are at about 12-13 weeks. At that point you may be able feel a little bit of a hardness just above your pubic bone, depending on your build (women with more cuddly tummies don't tend to feel it as readily).

The uterus will then grow upwards at the rate of about 1cm a week until you are about 34 weeks pregnant.

For most women, unless you've had a tummy tuck operation, the uterus will reach your belly button around 19-20 weeks.

Any tummy tightness/bulging you may be feeling at 6 weeks is due to changes in your digestive system. Some women experience bloating and/or constipation at this time which can make their lower abdomen feel a bit distended. But this is pretty normal.

All too soon you'll have a tummy to show off - when you're actually pregnant tiem seems to go slow, but once you've had your baby you'll wonder where the time went!

Good luck.

This book is a must read for any woman trying to get pregnant. I was devastated and so was my husband after being told by my fertility specialist at age 38 that I had no option but to consider adoption or donor eggs (according to my doctor I was out of eggs and gave me 4% chance of getting pregnant and a 2% chance of carrying a baby to full term). After much research and dozens of hours reading infertility related articles and posts online, I have found this book! I never believed in anything alternative to western medicine and thought all the other stuff like Chinese medicine was a hoax. But I was soon glad to be wrong as I followed step by step guidelines. After one month of trying I became pregnant and had a beautiful healthy boy. Nine months after that I did everything in the book again and after 2 months of trying I got pregnant again and gave birth to another perfect little boy. I would recommend anyone with an open mind to read this book. It just might be the answer to your prayers.

It really depends on your build. It can be as early as 10-12 weeks. I know that with my first I didnt start showing till I was almost 8 months pregnant but then with mt second it seemed like you could tell right away. So like I said it depends on the build of your body. Congrats on the baby.

It depends, i think. I am just about 13 weeks and my tummy isn't very hard yet, although its getting bigger. I think that between 4-5 months, when you really start showing, your stomach gets harder... Good luck and congrats!

It all depends on your build and frame.. I am 34 weeks pregnant and pretty tall.... I have notice in the last 4 weeks that my baby is getting larger and really filling my abdomin making it like rock hard.. but like I said it depends.. congradulations.
