relating to units of capacity: if a 1 liter bottle is filled with marbles and a 1/2 liter of sand mixed together will it yield 1 and one half liters? Why or why not?

Not.

The marbles do not take up the entire 1 liter bottle. There is a significant amount of space in between the marbles. In fact, the marbles will use up just over half of the total volume.

Both the marbles and 1/2 liter of sand will fit in the same 1 liter bottle.

No. The sand will fill in the gaps between the marbles...so a lot of sand will fit in the bottle that is already "full" of marbles.

No because there is sand in 1 liter of it and sand in 1/2 in it.

it won't. see, the marbles don't fill the bottle completely, because of their shape. When the sand is added, it will make it's way in to all of the nooks, crannies, cervices, etc. The net result will be less than a liter and a half in volume.

listed here are my ideas. -you could no longer fill it up in basic terms a million/2 way via fact gas might needless to say enhance to extra wholesome its container. -So in case you fill up a million/2 of it with water, it might end the oxygen gas from increasing into the different a million/2, for this reason ensuing in it being a million/2 crammed with in basic terms oxygen. however the project is that the vapor of water might develop into gas. -so which you freeze it, which might occupy a million/2 the bottle, and then the oxygen will occupy the different a million/2. in simple terms had an fairly final examination in chemistry. a million/2 of it in touch gas regulations.
