Hm. NO. As the boss, i would be too concerned with being charged for some kind of harassment, even if i were strip searching the same gender employee. When I was a teenager, I worked at a Sam Goody store and they had the employees pat themselves down in front of the manager and do simple things like turn their pockets inside out to ensure they weren't stealing cassette tapes. However, as you can imagine, this wasn't too effective. I think one guy stole stuff and hid it in his boot or something....I would search the net for some good human resources websites that have Q and A forums; they can advise you of the legality of this and how to accomplish your security goals if this kind of search isn't permissable.

to strip search, thats why we have police and security officers. I dont even think that a security officer should do it. who will want to work for a company that do strip search everyday. Isnt a work place is to be a trustworthly place. The boss should never do a strip search or even pat you down. I run about 6 kind of business and have never even pat my employees. A employee is always a employee and a boss is a boss. Thats how you run a long term and fruitful business. A business is about a work nand not about patting or strip seaching everyday.

It depends on the nature of the job and knowing at the time of hire that high security is necessary and therefore agreeing to such when you become and employee. Otherwise I think a search warrant would be in order.
It's a dangerous thing to give up too much civil liberties for the sake of "security" though. It would likely be best that a security officer trained in such matters did so. If there are drugs or a bomb threat involved or weapons then yes. Again, if the work environment is such that it would place any number of people at risk and they may know privately of any threats that would put people at risk, then as long as you have nothing to hide and they aren't abusing their right to protect then yes. Still, it's a fine line between personal rights and the security of the community, thus the nation. If that balance is not kept, then the enemy becomes "US"! According to this article, "suspicions" do not grant them the right to search.

it dang well better be a place of very high security to even consider that. and even then they best have proper training. i say boss no way. supervisor well only if it meets the above reason.

personally i never work at place like that. there is many better less intrusive ways to conduct a search with out the need to remove clothing or physically contacting them.

No, it's an invasion of privacy. I don't have a problem going through a metal detecter, wanded, having to open bags, and empty pockets.

Unless you work for the police- and even then, maybe SLIM circumstances, then i say no. If they ask you to get naked i say it is sexual harrassment...
