This new hobby I started involves carving my own stamps, which I've been told I'm pretty good at. I'm looking for new tips on carving, I've searched the web but haven't really found anything. Could you guys help?

Letterboxing is actually the hobby, I'm basically looking for other people who've done carving longer for a few pointers.

I've found some fun in carving stamps also. I got into it though letterboxing. The below site has an links page with a couple carving sites. It's how I got started off.

try different materials, erasers r great. all types of materials r available from speedball. their linocutters r very good. make sure to cut AWAY FROM UR BODY was the main safety message in the printing class i took lol, for obvious reasons. one of my favorite things was layering papers and using bold designs as well as some stitching into the papers...looks great. mulberry and handmade papers are always a good choice as well. have fun!
