Jatts are a group of people mostly associated with the region of Punjab, though they are present around North India. They can be Sikh, Muslim, or Hindu (or any other religion for that matter).
Sorry it just reminded me of that bhangra song that goes something like "haan jatt punjabi doston sarvan punjabi hon tha."
