I've had both and have had no side effects. In fact, this has been the best pill for me so far, and I've been on Ortho tri cyclin lo and seasonale also. The generic has the exact same ingredients. There's also a third generic under a different name that's a duplicate of those two, but I can't think of it.

I switched to a Generic version of Ortho Tri Cyclen called Tri-Sprintec.. I have developed depression negative moods and emotions.. All my friends and my boyfriend have notice that change within the last 3 months I have been taking it. Because of these side effects I am pushing away my friends and my boyfriend.. I just called my Doctor and told them I need to switch back no matter how much more expensive it is because no cheap drug is worth losing friends because of this horrible depression I have been experiencing. There is nothing in my life that should make me feel like this at all!!!
