Whenever the government needs money for roads, police, military, schools, social security, or anything else, they should just add it to the national debt and let someone in the future take care of it.

That's the American way! Let our children deal with the problems we caused!

Taxes are annoying, but they are doing SOME good. If I know that my child will have a future, I would pay anything.

Well, the problem is that debt has to be serviced by making interest payments, and without making those payments no one will loan to the government.

Minimal taxes (no income, Social Security, or Medicare tax) would be a much better way to run the government, but no taxes would be impossible.

Some one - some country (at the moment, mostly China and Saudi Arabia) - has to FUND the debt. No way they'd give us one cent if no taxes are collected. I know that's how the current administration does things, but we will have to pay someday. Won't it be fun when China pulls the plug and takes over the country financially. Your kids will be learning Cantonese or Mandarin in school soon!

If it sounds too good to be true it is.

The American people demand basic services to help improve our quality of life.

Roads, schools, military, Social Security, national parks, the court system, are important to most Americans. It cost money to run these programs.

Taxes are the lifeblood of the state because if there are no taxes, the state cannot survive since it has nothing to spend for its expenses just like the building of roads, education, health and other public services.

Do away with the Federal Reserve and IRS. Go to a national flat tax rate, and turn those accounting responsibilities over to the GAO. Sound impossible? I don't think so.
