The media distracts us all the time within in various avenues. It starts with the youth; being mislead with social pressures created on an unrealistic level and continues the rest of our lives. We have people in life who believe its more important to have materialistic values over those considered realistic such as humanistic brotherly love towards one another.

Yes. Media is big business and they only make available what editors feel will sell newspapers and TV/radio ad time. The importance of the story is a secondary consideration. Also, there is a built in bias that is so common that reporters, editors, etc are not conscious of it that causes unintentional skewing of what is considered important.

yes to your general question. it would be nice to hear or that you write what exactly you had in mind as for other events. again I say "yes" since judging from the judge statements on the "Nicole" affair over a body that does not speak anymore and wants to rest in peace underground -- be it in the Bahamas or California -- we have had it...over you guess...
Next time please tell us those "important things" you have in mind to re-judge whether or not we are on the same wave-length. as a concrete example I say, the Iran-ian President outburst on part of humanity and what he intends or does not intend to do is a very important event. Hope it helps.
