nope as far I've read the manga(which is way too much into the second season) he doesnt take his chuunin exams. He develops cool moves though.

i don't think so, becasue as we know the chunin exam is a long process, and we've already been there done that.
also, naruto does not have time for the exam as he is searching for sasuke/fighting akatsuki.
plus he needs a team of three... he might have to wait til konohamaru is ready to take the exams!
if they do make him chunin i think they won't show it.. but then again he doesn't need to take the exams everybody knows he is above genin level anywyas.

I think the bell test with Kakashi-sensei is the test. If he passes I think they will promote him. Sad though that everyone else has passed him.
