TNA doesn't exactly rival all of the WWE they mostly rival RAW. But in any sense it doesn't. RAW is on for 2 hours sometimes 3, TNA is only on for 1.

First of all to all you people who diss TNA
& have never watched it - Don't Knock It til you Try It!

TNA is a rival to the WWE!
Why would WWE pursue TNA wrestlers to sign with their company if they weren't competition?
WWE didn't want Monty Brown aka Marcus Cor Von til after he worked for TNA. They didn't want Jeff Hardy back til after he worked for TNA. They rehired Matt Hardy because they were afraid he would go work for TNA. WWE recentlly signed former TNA wrestler Cassidy Riley to a developmental deal.
WWE copies TNA. WWE has Umaga trying to be like Samoa Joe. TNA had Rhino vs AJ Styles in a Last Man Standing Match at a PPV. Then WWE decides to put John Cena in a match like that vs Umaga. If WWE didn't look at TNA as competition then why do they copy them & take shots at them all the time?
WWE announcers are always saying "Look at the Impact!" to take a shot at TNA!
Another thing the WWE is doing is looking to bring in more Mexican & Japanese wrestlers because they see how well TNA does with Mexican & Japanese wrestlers!

TNA may not have as much TV time as WWE right now but they are working on getting a 2 Hour Deal & when they do WWE better watch out!

TNA Rules!
WWE Sucks!

for the in ring aspect, sometimes. Ever since Vince Russo took the book the ring action has took a serious nose dive. In pay-per-view buy rates? Not at all. In TV ratings? Nope. I think last weeks Raw Vs Impact head to head ratings tell us everything we needed to know right now.

Raw: 3.0. Down 25% out of its normal day and time slot.
Impact: .59. Down roughly 50% in their normal day and time.

More and more fans prefer TNA now so WWE had better start pulling up it's socks if it wants to survive TNA's wrath.

Yes because they are another wrestling promotion, another option for the wrestlers to go to if they're really sick of WWE. But they are not challengers ratings wise and they won't be for a while...if ever.
