Her plan seems solid enough, she moves to the U.S. and moves in w/ or becomes close friends with me... and if it doesn't work out then she goes back home.

Con/Against Idea:If she wants to do that, she needs to do it on her own. Don't get stuck supporting her or her cleaning you out completely one day while you are at work. I agree with the background check too! Know what you are dealing with!
I must pointout that she would not be living under my moral/mentoring support only, NO money would be involved.

All a woman from Russia want's from you is a green card and life that exceeds that of the Russian standard. She will probably never love you but rather use you to get what she wants out of life. Her degree won't mean anything in the U.S. so she'll be a leech on you, talk you into marrying her, and for what? Nothing. Don't do it.

Its perfectly fine. Russian ladies are known for their honesty. However, make sure that she IS Russian. There are a lot of different nationalities living in Russia and some of them are known for quite the opposite.
Personal note: If you are having doubts, than you probably don't really like her that much, so it might be better for her if she never comes.

There are thousands of women in poorer countries who all want a better life. If that means they marry a western man that is what they will do. It is okay to give her support and to try and help but if you don't want marriage with her be on your guard.

if you think you can make it happen then why not. people been coming over from across the pond for years and living with familys while going to school. so if you want to try and give this persona better way then so be it.
