If you whatched Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind you will see that he IS really good in more dramatic roles.

Already in Man on the Moon his role had a hint of drama in it (shining through a very thick layer of comediatic fireworks). After seeing this film I truly respected him as a actor. He was brilliant, and it was not an easy role to pull of either.

Then you haven't watched ALL of Jim's movies, have you?
I think Jim Carrey will do a wonderful job playing a serious role, as he has before. Jim Carrey is a very talented actor and definitely worth his salt!

actually Jim Carrey is quite an accomplished actor. He is known for is start as the crazy Jim Carrey from In Living Color, but he has done movies in which he shows that he is truely a good actor.

I think he is really a well-rounded actor that could suit many parts

Is there no room for a woman with an answer like mine? My renowned Jim Carrey action picture is The huge style 23. i like Jim Carrey's darkish turn as a homicidal intercourse addict. it rather is a character i did no longer ever think of he ought to pull off, and it replaced the way i think of of him as an actor. 2d determination is eternal Sunshine of the Spotless concepts.

AND NOW FOR AN INFORMED ANSWER.....

One reason that Jim Carey can pull off such a serious role as the one in the new movie "23" is because he himself has been obsessed with the number 23 for most of his life. Those who are truly familiar with his work know that even his studio, which is called JC23, was named for his interest and obsession in the number.

I think he can. He's a talented actor but seems to be trapped in a stereotype. I always prefer his more serious roles over his off-the-wall comedy ones. Looking forward to seeing more serious stuff from him.

Maybe if he is the one who dies first, and heralds the start of the horror with some terrible scream-face; other than that I can't see it.

From what I have seen here, it looks like I have some research to do :)
