I have the game "Super Mario" for Nintendo 64, and, despite owning, and playing, it for many years, I haven't finished the game. XD I was wondering what the cannon on the beach was for, and if it ever opens.

If you get all 120 stars, the cannon on the beach opens and you can shoot to the top of the castle. At the top you can get a wing cap, a few life shrooms, and yoshi is walking around. If you talk to yoshi, he will give you 100 lives and a special 3rd jump.

If you get all 120 stars you can use it to shoot to the top of the castle, talk to Yoshi, and get 99 lives.

umm im pretty sure u gotta get all the stars an then u can shoot into the princess peach painting outside the castle.....in the version on the Nintendo Ds it also opens a new minigame when u get on the roof of the castle.....i havent found them all but i hope that helped!!
