I heard she got in a big fight with her ex and he accused her of doing drugs and he said he was going to test her hair to determine if she had been doing drugs and if she was he was going to take the kids away. So she shaved her head.

because she can do whatever she wants. Because she's Britney Spears and she know the world is watching her every move and she's tired of it! How many 25 year old girls do you know go into a salon and ask to have their hair shorn? probably none. She needs help Something is definitely not right. These aren't the actions of a normal 25 year old female celebrity. It's one thing to be out and about cavorting every night on the town, it's another to do one rash act after another. She's a little girl lost, crying out for help.
I hope she stays in rehab this time.

Apparently no one before me has heard this version of why she did it...
it was on the news today with pictures.
She has some kind of scalp infection that was causing her hair to thin out on the sides of her head (perhaps on the top also but, the pics only showed the side)...
she was actually going bald to some extent.
Speculation is that this was caused as the result of constant hair extensions and the glue or adhesive that was used which was slowly killing the hair down to the roots.

I don't know what I believe. There are other ways of drug testing someone. The salon owner said the whole time she was shaving, she kept slurring, "I'm a good mother....I'm a good mother....: I actually think her kids would be much better off with K-Fed.

I was watching CNN the day it happened and this one girl was in the tattoo shop with Britney, and asked her why she decided to shave her head and she said she was having a break-down. So much stress & she also said she didn't want anyone touching her anymore.

K-fed threatened her stating that he was going to drug test her(by hair strand) so he could prove that she was doing drugs and he could have full custody of the kids. She got scared so she went and shave her head.

Well I think Britney Spears cut off her long brown hair because when she was with K-Fed she died in from blonde to brown to try to go unnoticed at a concert K-Fed gave...maybe she wants to start afresh and grow her hair again but in its natural colour....maybe she's just trying to make a new start with herself and her hair.

Probably for more publicity, to get people talking about her. When celebrities want to get and stay famous, they always do insane things that wil get the tabloids talking about them. remember Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake? also Jessica Simpson's tuna comment? what about all the crazy stuff Paris Hilton does? that's all for publicity.
