What if it turns out like Desperate Housewifes and she justs narrates the show from death like Mary Alice. A lot of people are saying that she can't die because the show is called Grey's anatomy, but this is an actual medical journal. It is kind of like a clever pun that not many people know about.

she can not die. absolutly not=] i love her and mcdreamy together. and i think that something will happen with that Jane Doe lady and maybe when they showed some of the doctors like yang being all confused, maybe it was with her. i think something will happen with her baby. but if Grey dies, i dont know what i will do. I dont think i will be able to watch it anymore=[ but on another show One Tree Hill, a character had a "dream" similar to merediths and he woke up. so i believe that she will realize the dream and just wake up to be with Derick. and i think that it was so sad when he was sitting in the hallway crying because he wasn't allowed in the room. I cried a lot this episode. on a website i saw that there was like a Top 10 most worthless show characters and Dr. Burke was #5. so i am surprised that nothing happened to him.=] sorry so long!:)

I have heard this argument so much it is tiring.
Stop focusing on the word Grey's and start focusing on the word Anatomy, that which makes one up.
The show is about what makes up the main character, her, family, her friendships, her job and her love life.
And Gray's Anatomy is not a medical journal. It is a refence guide of anatomical structures in the human body. I studied it back in high school biology.
They chose the name Grey because things with her are never black and white but shades of grey. They could have named the show Shades of Grey but Grey's Anatomy seemed more on point and more related to the subject of medicine.
And No, she is not dead anymore. Even death for her can be a grey area.

Geez.... It seems that way, but I think it's ridiculous. And not a smart move. And why would they kill her off. It's not like she's a minor character. And if she's deciding to leave the show, that's also not smart. What's with actors thinking that they do well on a television show and that suddenly their movie career will take off. Does she think she's too good for it now? I sure hope not. Because I think that most people want to see her on Grey's Anatomy right now. Let's hope she lives, (but it seems that since she's been out for such a long time that there'd be some major brain damage. ...... biting my nails!
i hope you don't think i'm insulting you. I was just venting about actors and actresses leaving shows. But I'm glad that she's not leaving the show just yet...... don't be so sensitive, and read more carefully! :)

No way she'll die. Think of all of the episodes they've spent crafting the romance between her and McDreamy. There has to be more to it than just her dying.

oh i hope so, that show sux so much, its emotionally manipulative to all women, and what sucks the worst is that after its over, i have to deal with a moody and crying girfriend

No, they can not kill of the main character because they will be writing themselves into a corner...plus she is my FAVORITE! Her mother will die though. I really hope she doesn't die. ='(
