solving using elimination?

x+y=5
y+2=10
x+2=9

You have in 2nd and 3rd, y = 8 and x = 7. This has nothing to do with the 1st eq.

y=10-2 ---------> 8
x=5-y
x=5-8 ---------->-3

-3+8=5
