i ask this question having read the oral argument in the US Supreme court case in December 2006.

Quotas seem to be unconstitutional because empty seats might be left, or students might not be admitted because that student
s race may have already been met by their quota for race; a clear violation of the 14th amendment..

I think the only way to sucsessfully integrate all races and ethnicities is to elminate it completly; take the "Check here if you are.. " off the application box.

Makes sense if everyone is truely to be treated equally.

They have had it back home for years. its called poverty. all the poor people, regardless of race, lived in the same part of town, so as not to pollute the view of the well off.

When people quit having to ask what integration is, that will mean that it has been achieved.
