I'll be a Senior next year taking a dual enrollment class at a community college and I want to know which class out of these will be required for just about any major. You know...the CORE classes you have to take that arent part of your major, because I dont know what i want to do yet? Which class should i take?

Expository Writing, Music Appreciation, Western CIV I, Intro to Sociology, Intro to Business, Intro to Criminal Justice.

those are my only options...what class should i go ahead and take that i know i will end up taking in college anyways?

I would think that both the Intro to Sociology as well as the Expository Writing would transfer just fine. The writing class also has the benefit of preparing you for all the writing you'll have to do in college, including any sociology class. Those classes should be able to apply towards your core requirements. The other classes would only transfer as electives.

take intro to sociology. If you are going into a liberal arts program, it should be one of your options for a liberal arts core class. When I was at Purdue we had many categories for liberal arts core classes, such as pick 1 from this category (women's studies) and they would list 10 classes, then pick 1 from this category (racial/ethnic issues) and they would list 10 more classes, etc. That's usually how it goes. You have about 10 categories and most of the time you have to take 1 or 2 classes from each category, then you have about 11 classes/33 credits within your major that you have to take also. Intro to sociology would count in your liberal arts core classes usually, unless your school is a real jerk about transfer credits. It is always best to discuss it with them first. Usually they will tell you ahead of time if the class is transferable, however they can be slow in evaluating the class.

Intro to Sociology would probably be a good choice, since it *should* count as a Humanities gen ed no matter where you go. I'm surprised you don't have the choice of English 101/102, since those, without question, will be required no matter where you go.

However, make SURE to check with whatever college you plan to attend and verify that they will accept your transfer credit. Sometimes, out of state colleges or private institutions give you lower level credit than what you were expecting, usually making your transfer credit useless (other than as boosting your class standing).
