How about them Sabres? Anybody watchen the game tonight? We gotta have the best AHL program in the Amerks. Look at all these guys comen up from Rochester in they're first seasons, and being productive. It's beautiful, and that is why were the best team in the NHL. And you gotta love Patrick Kaleta, hometown boy, his first NHL game and going toe-to-toe with Danny Heatley and making him his *****. God I love this team.

In think the Sabres and the Devils are hands down the best two teams in the East. I'd love to see them meet in the East Finals.
The Sabres have a great program going. I think all but six of their players have spent their whole NHL career at Buffalo. This is a very young and cohesive group. Judging by their minor league talent, they'll be around for awhile.
The other thing I like about the Sabres is that they are playing with a serious chip on their shoulders, being that they got snakebit by injuries against the Hurricanes. They should have won the Cup last year, and they are playing like a team that knows it. I'm not taking anything away from the Canes, they got to carry the trophy around and they should get credit for that. But the Sabres are out for blood this year.

I'm gonna go ahead and say best hockey game I've seen. Back and forth, overtime, shootout, and oh yeah, a nice 12-man brawl. I'm sure Ruff would have clocked Murray if given the chance.
I don't know how dirty or late the hit was, but I know the Sabres absolutely did the right thing in defending their captain, and the Sens should have been prepared, rather than Murray sending out his first line and acting surprised when countered with Peters, Mair, and Kaleta.
Also, you have to love our farm system, it seems like we can just plug anyone in from Rochester and they're just as good. I'd rather have Finny, Spacek, Kotalik, etc, but for the time being the young Amerks are holding their own. Stafford's dipsy-doodle on Gerber in the shootout was the icing on the cake.
Bravo, Sabres.

ya the amerks guys were awesome kaleta was so good i mean 1st nhl game and he squares off with heatley...and kicked his as$! Im so proud of our sabres! i was there and the place was nuts! ruff shoulda kicked murrays as$ or at least rayzor (rob ray) shoulda jumped up and laid him out! that wouldve truly made it the best game ever. stafford too he got the GWG in the shootout, mcarthur got his 1st. well said I LOVE THIS TEAM!

Put away your anointing oils. The Sabres have never won anything and hate to pee on your parade but I just can't see it this year either. For play-off hockey, with the wear and tear of 7 games series, they just seem too....fragile. i know all you Sabres fans will want to give me a thumbs down but consider how they are a small, quick team. Their best forwards (Briere, Afinagenov, Drury) are all pint sized and cannot handle the play-off physicality for the duration. Also, their best Dman (Campbell) is a dwarf. they are doing really well but face the reality.
Don't believe me?? See: Last year. What were they down to like 5 Dmen.
That said, maybe they add some size and grit at the deadline (Geurin, Tckchuk??) that will help them some.
