I'm looking at a cell phone on ebay, and it said that this phone is so new, that it doesn't even have a sim card inserted in it! Can the phone even work without the sim card? What IS a sim card? I don't even want to make calls, just to play games, listen to music, and whatnot.

If I don't have the SIM card in my phones (Samsung, Sidekick, and Nokia), then it won't let me get to the main menu of the phone until the SIM card is in there. I'm not sure about other phone brands though. So if you wanted to access the menu's for games and such on these phones, you're outta luck.

A sim card just has you subscriber information on it. It will turn on...but it will never be able to get a signal. My phone works fine without it, but some may not!

rather lots each and all of the recent telephones that are out are coming with SIM enjoying cards, in case you have already got one with T-cellular you will possibly no longer have the means to flow sims to different vendors, as a result your rather lots out of luck, they try this so which you reside with the provider provider your presently with...its that gottya clause. yet a impressive style of telephone manufacturers (companies) furnish a sync software on your telephone to pc with which you would be able to returned each little thing to the pc & then positioned it into the recent telephone. solid luck..
